Indoor Soccer Information Winter 2007-08
Attn: Parents
Indoor soccer season will begin January 7, 2008. Sign ups are from now till December 15th. We play 8 games and only 1st place gets trophies. We will be in the U8 Coed league.
The registration fee is $32.00 per player. Due by December 15th!
Each player must have an ID card $16.00 (unless player has one for past year). Due by January 7th!
We will be using our jersey shorts and socks but with the white tournament t-shirt. Players must wear regular tennis shoes or indoor soccer shoes only. I recommend the indoor soccer shoes for traction and comfort. (Academy) NO hard/outdoor cleats.
We will only have two practices before the season begins; these are ESSENTIAL because we will not practice during the indoor season.
For those who don't know, indoor soccer is so exciting. They actually keep official score! A clock that times down from 20 minutes each half, and there is no out of bounds--the ball is constantly in play. There are seven players on the field which includes a goaly!
Call me by December 1st so I can build the roster. Desi cell: 632-6650 home:797-0268 or email us!
Make checks payable to me because I have to write one big check payable to Soccer Indoors by December 15th. Mail to or drop it off at our house. 512 N. Grover Ave (79416) in the Shadow Hills area.
I would love to have all 10 of our girls play this winter season but I understand if some are wanting to take a break or are busy with other activities. Make sure you sign up for Spring 08 LSA Outdoor soccer in late January / early February. Sign up early because there are three ex-players trying to get back in our team!
Thanks….Coach Desi

SuperStar Tournament News
It has been a GREAT season! Our final stats ended up 7-2-2. Losing only 2 out of 11 games is an outstanding record!!
Those little SuperStars went to the Midland Turkey ShootOut and showed those bigger girls who's boss.
Game #1 was a little like a fast-paced ball being chased in slow motion. Maybe the girls were a little travel-lagged, but we held those Midland Red Raiders to a tie 2-2. We should have been able to beat them--it just wasn't meant to be.
Game #2 was against the Midland Dragonflies and our girls definitely turned their game around--shutting out our opponents 8-0.
Game #3 turned out to be our most challenging of the day. Those Odessa Honey Bees were serious about trying to keep us out of the game. In the end, our faster-paced offense and "ticked-off" defense held them off with our 6-2 win.
Overall, it was a successful tournament with most all of our fowards scoring at some point in one of the games & lots of attempts on the goal.....for those of you who don't know.....that is wonderful! It tells us in the next few seasons, we will be able to score from all different angles when other teams zero in on our offense. Great defense held the opponents to only 4 points in three games!
Thanks again to all of you for your dedication to this team and we look foward to playing this team in Soccer Indoor this winter. We will post this on a separate post very soon.

SuperStars Last Game of Regular Season
Final Score: 13-0----------versus the Angels. What a great way to end the season! Our little girls have really grown this season. They were out there playing in their own zones and looked very organized--that's saying alot for 7-8 yr olds. 5 of our 6 forwards scored goals & the others just-missed so many off the edge of the posts. Our "defending" players did a great job of keeping the ball out of our opponent's goal zone. It looked great.
Thanks for everything all of you have done.
Hopefully, we will go to the MSA tournament and make a great showing.
Practice: Thursday, November 8 at 5:30 (daylight savings issues) Cook Park
Coach Desi will be at the park by 5:00 for those that can get there earlier!
We know that it's a hard time, but as soon as you can get there would be great. We will have information on tournament schedules; medical releases for those who haven't signed one yet; tournament T-shirts ($7) for those who've not picked one up yet, a Midland complex map, and all that stuff.
We are officially staying at LaQuinta (North side) on Friday night because it's close to the Complex and the coach has to get there early to register the team. There are also some teammates staying at the Ramada Limited and some are driving in that morning. Please know that if you drive in that you should make it to the complex by 9:30 so allow some time.
Also, bring coolers & snacks & blankets & chairs as we will probably be "camping out" at the complex.

Sidekicks Last Fall Game
Wow! It's been crazy season--full of ups and downs. We were happy we should be in the "easier" division; sad that they put us in the "harder" division; happy that we kept up with some of those tough teams; sad that we were losing to those tough teams; happy that we were getting better; sad that we couldn't get better faster; and so on...
The fact that we even played in the 3rd-vs-4th seed is pretty good as far as we're concerned....8 weeks ago, we couldn't even imagine that. While it's disheartening that our girls can't get better faster, it's just amazing that our girls have come this far. It's really hard to pick up soccer skills at this age if you haven't already played, and we've done pretty well considering. Our defense is AWESOME! We have to work on confidence for offense so that our defensive can get a break.
You will get a postcard in the mail for spring LSA sign ups; please let us know if you won't be returning----if we don't have enough returning players, we'll have to explore other options.
Thanks for a great (yet wild) season!..........keep in touch...................Desi & Angie
