Back to School
Hope everyone has had a great summer! The indoor season is almost over, we only have two more games. Thursday September 4th at 6:00 against the Dust Bunnies and Sunday September 7th against the Wildcats. That game will determine who will be First place!
The girls played great today. Again I saw progress in passing, spacing and maintaining their zones. The Rave Girls tried to give us a game but our girls were just too strong, physically and mentally. Our girls are outplaying all teams with sheer skill and talent. You should acknowledge all the girls, they are all playing hard! Every one of them. Pat them on the back.... :)
Some of the girls looked tired after a few minutes of play. That is probably due to conditioning. We do not practice during Indoor soccer but once outdoor soccer begins in a week or two, we will start practicing twice a week. Tuesdays and Thursdays more than likely. I'll post it on the blog and call everyone. They will be conditioned for outdoor. There is also more to learn in the U9 level. Offsides, strong accurate corner kicks, crossing the ball, and dropping the ball to the goaly or defender to name a few.....
I have been going in the backyard with the kids and working on dribbling, cuts, pull backs and shooting with the girls at least 2-3 times a week. That always help with conditioning!
Girls have fun in school tomorrow and be safe.
Next Game:

Almost Perfect
What a game! Win 7-0! The girls looked awesome. I was proud of every one of them. The SuperGirls only had two Lonestar girls playing with them but it was not enough. Our team looked organized and in position. They(SuperGirls) were most of the time all over the place playing bunch ball. I think that is what hurt them the most. They also played a 4-2-1 formation vs our 3-3-1.
The forwards looked great again. They played their zone, dribbled the ball, cut when needed and passed when needed. A few of the girls missed some passes but we'll keep working on it. I still want to see a little more wall usage. Our forwards have scored 35 points in five games! If our defender decides to drive (dribble) the ball up make sure you switch and go back to her postion and fill in the defensive side till they return!
Defenders did an awesome job, they held them to another shutout. Not sure if you guys realize it but out of 5 games our opponents have only scored a total of two points! Awesome job defenders and Goalies! Defenders I still want to see harder kicks and if you drive(dribble) the ball up make sure you get back into position after you pass or take your shot!
Goalies (Lexi) did a great job! SuperGirls shot at the goal at least 10 times there in the last five minutes trying desperately to score at least one point to prevent the shutout. Not one got by.
Chloe was sick and should return this sunday for the next game. Along with Mica she was out of town. Goalies keep practicing your punts, throws and using a sibling or parent to shoot the ball at you.

Rough Win
Wow.... that was a rough game to watch. The girls didn't look like the same team that played this past sunday. But hey we got the Win 2-0 and that's what counts. I was a little nervous. I really thought that should have been a 7-0 type game.
Something weird happened the second half. There were 17 minutes left and I was going to make substitutions at 15:00minutes then there was a penalty, when I looked up at the clock I noticed there were now 10 minutes left instead. I looked up at the guys running the clock and they looked like they were panicking. I told the ref but he said he didn't notice. Too make things short I didnt get to sub the way I had set it up. So I apologize for the weird subs and time allotments. The other teams coach noticed it too but we could'nt do anything about it???
Let's look past this game and get ready for Lonestar oops I mean SuperGirls! :) They are 3-0 and are playing the Wildcats this saturday. I'll call James and ask him who won and how bad. They will definitely be ready for us. I really believe this game coming up next saturday the 16th will determine who will wind up first place!

We have a large break between this game and the next. There is an 11 day layover. That is way to long to not play. So I am going to call a mandatory practice on:
Thursday August 14th. from 6:45pm - 8:00pm Cooke Park. We will be ready for the game the following Saturday.

Only 2 undefeated
The girls keep getting better and better. Those Wildcats played hard. I saw pushing, shoving, kicking, and tripping. That was all in the first half! :) The girls never backed down, I saw our girls get just as physical the whole game. I told them what to expect and it was up to them to step it up and show them who's the best! Great win 7-2. Looked like we were going to win 6-0 but we let down the last 4 minutes.
Once again we had five different forwards score. The girls stayed in their zones and made plays on the ball. Great job! Keep dribbling, cutting and passing. Tell them to shoot the ball harder.
Defenders did a great job again and I saw great movement from the defender playing opposite of the ball in play. They went and covered the middle to protect the goaly then went back to zone. Good job also. You also need to kick the ball harder to clear it from the attacking forwards.
Goalies had some great punts. I still need them to be aggressive and attack the ball facing forward not from the side. Great job. I told yall they would take more attempts from now on.
Only us and SuperGirls remain undefeated. They are 3-0 and so are we. We meet up Saturday August 16 at 10:30am. Tell the girls to play aggressive that day just like they did against the Wildcats and we should take the win!
I put stats on the blog just like I promised the girls. This helps them work harder at their position to get more points, kicks, or saves.
Next game is this Tuesday August 5th. 6:00pm Be there by 5:40pm for warmup. vs Extreme.
Call me if you will be running late or will miss the game. Coach Desi 632-6650
