Sidekicks: Looking to the future...

Thanks to all of those who came to our party. Sidekicks took a tough hit for our last game losing to Majik 6-0. We took it hard, but if you look at it, we've come a long way since our 1st game. Majik has been together since they were 4 yrs old and are 2nd place in our division with their only loss to Diamondbacks.

Looking toward the future: Indoor soccer should begin in July. We hope that our girls will participate--not to win, but to view it as practice time and preparation for next season. At this point, the girls need experience in all game situations to make up for those "lost" years of not playing together that the other teams have on us. For those who have never played, indoor soccer is great conditioning. The ball is always in play with no "out of bounds", smaller goals, and 1 referee. Coach Desi will call with details for those who are interested or e-mail us and let us know if this is something you might want to do. It costs about $25 a girl and a registration card fee for each player and we can use our same jerseys.

Thanks again for a great spring outdoor season: Victoria, Anissa, Nora, Naomi, Jocelyn, Isabel, Bethanie, Isabella, Christina, and Brittany......keep practicing in the off-season

Update on Soccer Teams

The week has been hectic and we apologize for not posting any updates sooner. Coach Desi is recovering nicely from his surgery--moving around, getting out of the house a little, and actually thinking he may survive. :)
SideKicks (U9): After seeding 7th in our division, we played on 5-12 against the Lady Rockets. Though we had previously beat them, they seem to have developed like we have. We ended in a tied game @ 3:3 with penalty kicks galore. The girls seemed to have gotten more aggresive--which is good but can lead to those free kicks for the other team. Congrats to Isabel & Christina on their first points of the season!!! Thanks to the defenders for helping make these points possible...Next up is our last game (make-up) against Majik--they'll be really tough, but we can do it!
Practice: Friday, 5-18 @ 6:00 pm (pending weather)
Game: Saturday, 5-19 @ 4:30 pm (be there at 4pm) vs Majik snacks: Isabella
SuperStars (U7): SuperStars have continued to dominate with a win against Levelland on 5-12 with a score of 7:0. Most of the fowards got points in or attemped many. We have a three game winning streak with defensive domination in scoring like : 12-0, 10-0, and 7-0, but...now we will be tested again with a game against the Hot Shots who are unofficially tied with us for 2nd in our division.
Practice: Thursday, 5-17 @ 6:00pm
Game: Saturday, 5-19 @ 10:30 am (be there at 10am) snacks: Lexi & Mailey

Sidekicks Rally in Last Half for a Win

On Saturday, April 28 the Sidekicks collected their first win of the season against the Lady Rockets 3-0. This shows gradual improvement with a major loss followed by a 1 point loss to a tied game and finally a win. Believe it or not--our girls are getting better. We've included our team picture for you to enjoy.
Practice: Friday, May 4th at 6:00pm
Game: Saturday, May 5th at 1:30pm & Sunday, May 6th at 4:30pm
SuperStars: Now that our team has gotten the tougher opponents out of the way, the confidence is returning. Saturday, April 28th we beat Flower Power pretty bad with 10-1 the final score. On Tuesday, May 1st we played the Super Girls (who seem to be one of our more parrallel opponents) and ended with a tie at 1-1. But our girls played their soccer and almost took the win at the end.
Practice: No practice due to 2 games this week
Game: Saturday, May 5th at 9:00am (Mica snacks)
