Great Showing

Once again the girls shined in the tournament. We couldn't ask for anything better than 3-0. The offense looked awesome passing and dribbling the ball while scoring 26 points and the defense looked great holding their opponents to only 4 points. That little Jazi from Lonestar scored 2 of those points herself! Imagine if she wasn't there.

Parents thank you so much for the gift certificate you gave coach Daniel and I. We appreciate it.

Make sure you keep up with the blog for updates on camps. Right now it looks like we will be sending Bianca to the Lonestar soccer camp. We are still trying to see if we can get a team rate.

We will also update the blog for summer indoor soccer to prepare for the U-9 season with 7 girls on the field. We now get to use a goaly! Chloe and Lexi work on your punting and using your hands to stop the ball.

There will be a 3V3 Quickfoot tournament this coming month. This tournament allows all forwards to show off their speed and skills in a smaller playing field. I will only be taking 4 or 5 girls to this tournament because I've never coached this type of tournament before and will only coach one team, once we experience this one I can take an A team and a B team to future tournaments for those that are interested.

Make sure you sign up for Fall soccer: Sign up early to make sure you get back in the same team! There are parents asking me if they can get their kids to be in our team.

End of Season Party: Spring 2008

They have generously supplied all the meat (steaks & burgers) for our cook-out. We will all need to pitch in for the rest.

Lonestar: battle of the undefeated

Lonestar game:Loss 4-5
Goodness....there aren't even any words. We thought this was the year..the season...but it wasn't. Tensions were high (mostly for the parents)....tears were shed (mostly by the girls)....we did everything right and it still didn't work out. We might have even tied if we hadn't scored one for them on accident (dang wind!) We planned & strategized & re-planned & practiced before a thunderstorm & ran cones & replanned & woke up at 1:00am with new game line-ups & planned again. And don't let them fool you into thinking they're cool...........Lonestar has been planning, too.
They were honestly scared after that first half when we led them 4-1; They came back in the second half with desperation & the wind on their side...and we (for some reason) quit scoring (except the one we made for them). Maybe next time, we'll have no wind and our girls won't get on that cloud until the game is truly in the bag. All props to them..Lonestar is a great team & some of their girls have great skills, but we should have won that game.
Points-wise, they won; Athletically, we won; Fair play, we won; Skills, we won; Zone, we won; Loudest coach, we won (Desi apologizes, now); Greatest improvement since our last match-up, we won.....The tape tells it all (and we've watched it over & over & over)....

We are so proud of our girls!

Game: Saturday May 10 vs Lonestar 3:00pm be there by 2:40. The line up is already made so if anyone shows up late they will miss that quarter and only play the remaining one.

The girls played great thursday against Rave. Six of the seven forwards scored again and most of them scored 2 or more points! The defense did a great job , we did break our shutout streak but hey one point is not bad! The question is can we do it against Lonestar? If the girls play their heart out and play very aggressive we can BEAT them! Not one girl can be lazy or lose focus next saturday or it can get ugly on the field. Lonestar thrives on weakness.

Please make sure everyone attends both practices so we can be ready to win saturday.
