Great Start
The girls came out today and "Crushed" Crush 11-0. We couldn't ask for anything more.
I really think the size of the field intimidated some of the girls. Those balls hardly go out of play since the field is so big! There were a few times the ball sat there and no one went to go kick it even though it was still in play. :)
A few things we need to work on is staying in zone, dribbling and cutting more often, and kicking the ball harder. The girls were long winded so we will run more in practice to condition them. Again we had six different forwards score and the defense scored another shutout!
Sounds like these teams in our division won also: LoneStar, Bears, and Pink Panthers. We play the Pink Panthers next. They are fast and big. They also have a girl that can throw in the ball halfway down the field. I'm not joking she is awesome. Her name is Perry. We need the girls to scoot way back when she throws in!
Parents Please do not go to the other side of the field to yell at the girls and do not go behind the goals to yell at the girls. I think I do enough yelling in the game! HaHa. Please stay on OUR sidelines and cheer from there. What will happen is they will call me to a meeting and they could either not let me coach the next game because I cannot control the parents or they will not allow us to place first or second. So Please, I know we all get into the game with high emotions, but Please stay on the sidelines with the other parents and yell from there.

Parking will be bad so allow enough time. The fields are on the North/East side of the concession stand.
Bring your ball, backpack, water and of course shin guards. Lexi and Mailey have snacks!

The game has been cancelled for Sat. 9-13. According to the commissioner it will be rescheduled during a weekday yet to be determined! Work on your skills at home this weekend...

First Game
Parents:
If the weather is not too bad tomorrow, we will be at the Texas Tech Soccer Game parking lot on 10th and Indiana. I will be handing out uniforms from 6:30 - 6:50. If your able to please come by or you can wait till the day of the game just be there by 3:50 latest!
You can also come by my house friday from 3:30 - 5:30 to pick it up. My address is 512 North Grover Ave. Off of Franford and Erskine on the west side.
IF the games are still on we will be playing Saturday 9-6 at 4:30. Please be there by 4:00 the parking lot will be full. So leave eary from your home! The field is on the east side of the concession stand right by the parking lot. Keep an eye on the LSA website for postponements due to flooding. Please allow enough time to get to the fields it really hurts the momentum of the team when players are arriving 10 minutes or so before game time!
Next Practices are Tuesday and Thursday. 6:15-7:30pm. Please be on time or call me if you will miss or be late. So we don't sit there waiting for you.......632-6650.

Summer 2008 Indoor Champions
Congrats to all the Girls and Thank you Parents. It was an awesome season. Some of the girls were not feeling well due to sinus infections/coughing/feeling a little weak, but they came through. I really think they would have played better if they were ALL healthy. Please make sure they are washing their hands frequently, drinking lots of water, and eating healthy.
Those Wildcats showed up ready to play and were going to do their best to ruin our perfect season. They worried coach Daniel and I the first half but then we regrouped and motivated the girls to finish strong. We actually should have scored 5 or more there at the last minutes of the game but the girls just could not get the shots in the goal.
I am looking forward to this fall season and really believe the girls can win out our division. Please keep them motivated and ready to play on game days! and attend practice!
We need everyone at the next two practices, we need to work on the offsides rule, corner kicks, throw ins, and 2-3 plays for this season, conditioning, and game situations. Lexi work on your punts and Adriana work on punting the ball also. We need to work you two girls out for Goalies!

Next two Practices
We had an awesome game yesterday. We won 11-0. I changed up the order and some positions to give some girls a try at different things. We are now in position to win first place if we win sunday. Morgan will not make it so it is very important that everyone show up and be at least 15-20 minutes early. Not sure if you guys realized that we have shut out our opponents 6 games out of the seven we have played. We have also scored 55 points and our opponents only 2 points. That is amazing! I am so proud of the girls..... 6 different forwards scored!
The fall schedule is up and posted on the left side of the blog. This season is going to be a lot of fun all scores will be posted and teams ranked first place thru 8th. If there is a tie for first place then you have a playoff championship game and it's usually at the field with lights!
The uniforms will be ready on wednesday. I will hand them out on thursday practice if you have already paid. Remember the cost is $45.00. I need it by Friday 9-12 latest.
We will be doing the Midland tournament for sure and I will talk to you to see if yall want to do Amarillo also. If you know you do want to do Amarillo please email me and say yes!
